i love soccer, and the sounders, but…. fashion show?

so if you are a season ticket holder, you got an email this evening that talks about the “sounders fashion show” on dec 4th at the WAMU (they still sponsor this place) theater.

we are told that drew carey, celebrity “A-listers” and sounders FC players will unveil the official Sounders FC Kit and complete fashion line.

got to say i am torn on this one. yes, i am interested in knowing what the full kit looks like, and the other types of garb that i possibly might purchase… but do i want to go to a fashion show? uh no… never have i wanted to, and i can not see myself honestly sitting at any kind of show, no matter how un-fashion show it is, enjoying that kind of presentation. i am more of a “show me some pics online of what is available” kind of guy.

but i have to be honest… who are these celebrity A listers?? i don’t know if i really know the definition of an A lister. it is kind of like the definition of “Diva”. it is over used, often self initiated, and when it comes down to it? who the hell really cares. but i will play along. so who is going to show up? well brangelina are going to be there i heard…along with paris and her new BFF. I also understand that brandon frasier really wanted to be in attendance but the D list was already occupied by steve sheffler, the manager of tukwila applebees and carney wilson. sorry brandon.

anyway, can’t see myself going to this one… hopefully, i will be able to get a good understanding of the schwag another way.

I’d have to agree with you here… a fashion show does seem a little… I dunno… moronic. However, this could bring some more attention and money to the Sounders FC franchise. Furthermore – this is not something unique in the world of footie – lots of big Euro clubs have done the same.

this is true ryan… but i think there is something a little different about watching kaka in milan, raul in madrid, messi in barcelona and fabregas in london then le toux and keller in seattle.

anyway. not trying trying to rip on this too much. it has a purpose… just not going to interest me on this one.

Atleast proceeds go to a good cause.

The A-List celebs will likely be a bunch of Drew Carey associates from Hollywoodland and some local notables.

Ryan Stiles has a home in WA
Craig Ferguson worked with Drew in the past and is from Glasgow so may be interested

From the Whose Line days guys like Wayne Brady and Colin Mocherie seem like people on Carey’s inner circle.
If Carey can get some of the A-listers (Hugh Hefner, the HOFF) that he has worked with in the past this can get some papparazzi buzz

And if Freddie isn’t there what was the point of signing a fashionista?

I don’t think James Ulmer would consider Ryan Stiles or Craig Ferguson as “A-Listers”.

If there are truly A-List celebs that attend, by guess is that they come from Joe Roth’s contacts and not Drew Carey’s.
