Close to Signing Sigi Schmid?

Columbus Crew head coach Sigi Schmid is under contract with the MLS Champions until the end of the month. Ives Galarcep is reporting that the two-time MLS Cup winner could be announced as the new head coach of Sounders FC as soon as Monday.

Schmid is on the verge of accepting a deal to become the first head coach of Seattle Sounders FC, multiple sources within MLS told SBI on Tuesday. Schmid’s current contract with the MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew expires on Sunday, meaning he could be introduced as Seattle’s head coach as soon as Monday.

    Well… leading LA Galaxy to two Supporters Shield victories (by the rest of the worlds count… the true winner of the league), an MLS cup, US Open Cup, and a CONCACAF Championship… not to mention he coached an All-Star team.

    And now he was won the Supporters shield and MLS Cup with Columbus.

    So I say this is outstanding!
