mixed reaction to draft, but leaning to the negative

so the expansion draft happened today, and a lot of people aren’t happy.

not that the average fans opinion on a message board should always be given full credit, but where else to get the opinion of what the fans think of how the F.O. did today?

there is some praise, but mostly frustration. just a few select quotes…

“I’m pissed off right now!!!”

“This draft was crap”

“These are major decisions being screwed up”

“Terrible management”

now, it must be said, the people behind these quotes may very well know exactly what they are talking about and have justified frustration. but, as i have stated before, i am not up on most of these players to have a strong opinion on it. i do think, however, that we need to wait and see what the end product is going to look like before we pass too much judgement on this draft. as many people point out, many of these guys may not make the final team, there is still the transfer window and the super draft. for all we know, one or more of these players could be trade bate to teams behind the scenes.

after we put a team on the field and start to deliver (or not deliver as it may be), then you can be sure i will have quite an opinion on some of these players. potential trades, money, and how a player may fit into the teams playing style has as much to do with what players that were picked than perceived skill. if you think that the best teams are those that always have the best skilled players, you only need to talk to real madrid and the yankees fans to know that this is clearly not always true.

until then, i am going to trust that the FO had a reason for every single player they drafted, even if many of them weren’t technically the best options.
