Alliance & Sound Wave Win Membership Vote

It was slightly lost in last night’s Fashion Show post, but Drew Carey indeed did mention that the Membership Association would be called Alliance and that the Sounders FC Marching Band would be called Sound Wave.

Dear Front Office, would you please get rid of the FSN logo out of OUR logo?

seems to me that if the FSN logo is payed a little crass commercialism is a small price for the possibility that that money will let us field a higher quality side.

This is the fan association, it has nothing to do with fielding a higher quality (or higher paid side).  The Cap is no big deal, Xbox already took care of that for us.

kent hits the nail on the head…

i mean, i see you point, and it’s definitely valid but i think i wasn’t really clear, so let me take another stab at letting you understand my perspective.

Salaries weren’t my only concern. I think that there are many of ways for the organization to make our team better (and the fan experience for that matter) and many (most… all?) of them require money. Technical and business staff, capital investments, and getting out to more preseason warm ups are, just the tip of the iceberg.

We’re fans of a sport which, unlike the other major US sports, goes so far as to put brands on their uniforms (ignoring the red wings) and although i know that this is different – it’s a fan association – the “alliance” is a part of the organization since it is really more of a limited oversight organ that a traditional fan’s group and, if selling branding rights makes the organization more effective, i can suffer through the eye sore.
