January 24- Chris Henderson is named Technical Director

March 27-31- Online voting for the “MLS in Seattle” team name (Seattle FC, Seattle Republic, Seattle Alliance and a Submit your own options are given)

April 7- Sounders FC name, colors, and badge are announced atop the Space Needle

May 7- Sebastien Le Toux is signed as the first player for Sounders FC

May 16- Membership Association meeting with Drew Carey at Kell’s

May 28- announcement of the partnership with Microsoft and Xbox 360. Rave Green jersey is unveiled at Qwest Field

July 21- Sounders FC announce a TV/Broadcast deal with KONG6 & KING5. Kevin Calabro is introduced as the Play by Play announcer

August 12- Lacey, WA native and former US National Team goalkeeper, Kasey Keller is the second player signed

September 5- Sanna Nyassi, a Gambian midfielder, is the third Sounders FC player signed

October 28- Freddie Ljungberg is the 4th Sounders FC player signed and will be the Designated Player

November 20- Inaugural Membership Association Meeting

November 26- MLS Expansion Draft

December 16- Sigi Schmid named as head coach

December 22- Brian Schmetzer names top assistant coach
