Jeff Parke Heading to Belguim?

Jeff Parke, who was selected by Sounders FC in the Expansion Draft, is headed to Belguim for a tryout with two clubs according to the Seattle Times.

Parke was a gamble for Seattle because he was not under contract with the New York Red Bulls during the draft. He also has 5 games left to serve on an MLS suspension for Substance Abuse.

Adrian Hanauer noted…

“We think Jeff is a tremendous player, and that’s why we were willing to risk selecting him in the expansion draft. We will continue to keep in close contact. We continue to hold his MLS rights and we’re hopeful that he will some day play for Seattle Sounders FC.”

Here was what Chris Henderson noted following the Expansion Draft…

I talked to Jeff about the opportunity in Seattle. We talked about just the actual playing part of him coming to Seattle, and contributing. We did not discuss any of the financial or contract information. Jeff and I have a past relationship as teammates, just the excitement from our side to pick him up. It’s something where he has to make a decision that he wants to play and stay in MLS, and that’s something we’re working on.

Do  you think we’ll ever see Parke in Rave Green?
