raul after freddie?
early indications look like freddie ljungberg will be a sounder for two years. that is how long his contract is, and let’s be honest, if there are concerns about him being a little fragile and losing a step now, well in 2 years, those will only be greater concerns. anyway, i am not here to really talk about that, only to say, who should our DP be AF (after fred).
well, the timing works out quite well to pick up Raul for a year. he is penciling in his retirement from real madrid for the end of the 2010/11 season, meaning that in May of that year, we could have him playing in rave green. raul has indicated that he would consider playing in the MLS for the experience after he retired from madrid.
while it would be a little bit of a novelty act, and we would likely only have him for a year, who could say that madrids ALL TIME leading scorer (somewhere north of 300 all time goals) wouldn’t be a nice to have.
