MLS Stadium Tour: Toyota Park

This weekend, Sounders FC heads to the suburbs of the Windy City to take on the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

Toyota Park is located about 16 miles southwest of downtown Chicago in Bridgeview, IL. Built as a Soccer Specific Stadium, it has a capacity of 20,000.

The natural grass pitch measures in at 110m x 69m and also hosts the Chicago Red Stars of the Women’s Professional League.

The Fire have a 32-15-19 record and are averaging an attendance of about 14,300 in all MLS, US Open Cup, and Friendly matches since the stadium opened on June 11, 2006.

toyota_parkSection 8 Chicago is a Supporters’ Association that brings together multiple supporter groups with independent fans to create their game-day atmosphere at Toyota Park. They are actually a They sit in sections 117 & 118.

Nate Jaqua scored the first goals for the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park when he played for them. He scored the first two goals for Chicago during the Home Opener on June 11, 2006. He scored in the 39th and 79th minutes.
