Sounders FC made their first trip Texas and walked away from Pizza Hut Park witha 1-1 draw against FC Dallas.
Jhon Kennedy Hurtado had a great 25th Birthday Present when he scored his first career MLS goal in the 18th Minute to put Seattle (4-2-3, 15pts) up 1-0. Dallas drew even in the waning seconds of the 1st half.
Seattle had its chances to pull ahead in the 36th minute when Brad Evans missed a lob over Dallas’s keeper Ray Burse which hit the woodwork.
Sebastien LeToux also had a shot to put the Sounders up, but pushed a shot wide left in stoppage time.
“We’re upset and frustrated,” forward Nate Jaqua said. “We did enough to win the game and we didn’t put the game away. We definitely learned something from it.”
“I feel like we left two points on the table,” Soudners FC Sigi Schmid noted. “A point is better than a loss, but we don’t want to be an inchworm just inching along.”
“I thought we were a little disjointed,” Schmid added. “We had a couple new guys playing, but at the end of the day it’s no excuse we should have put the game away in the first half.”
