a viewing dilemma this coming sunday…. and the rapids drop 2 pts.

as many of you have already noticed, the confed cup final is being played this sunday at 11:30am. which puts the ending at 1:30pm at best (it could be up to 2:15ish if it goes to PK’s). our match with the rapids starts at 1pm.

for those staying at home chanel flipping may work ok. or even better yet, tivo’ing and playing the sounders game on delay. but for those going to the match, what are you going to do?

**update** just after i posted this, i read this from don ruiz… honestly, not that i don’t think it is important, but i am surprised that the sounders fc front office are even pondering this. it is great that they are, but what a logistical nightmare. having the game on the bigscreen and trying to also watch the sounder live… that would be weird.

in other news, the rapids were cooled off a little last night by dallas, and in fact needed, a late goal to even get the draw.

the rapids had been on quite a run and it seemed like they were going to blow past us for the 3rd spot in the standings really easily. but all of a sudden, if we beat them on sunday, that isn’t a given anymore.

saying something is a must win half way through the season seems a bit of an over reaction, but putting 4 points between us, rather than it staying at 1, or even -2 is quite a huge difference.

for those who don’t want to stay at home, trust me, I’ll have my multi remotes in hand and making sure I have both games on if needed at my new gig.  If you’re game, check us out – 21+ bar side with two game choices, one on huge flat screen, and all ages restaurant side with massive projection screen with whichever the crowd screams for the most.
All Nations Soccer Bar, 930 N. 130th St, Seattle, just west of Aurora.  Normally open at 4:30pm, we’ll open at just prior to 11am on Sunday for those games!

Sounds like the SSFC Front Office is offering a sweet solution? Opening the stadium early to watch on the big screens…then going black during the Sounders match…and offering to show the delay tape right after?!?! Trying to confirm…but Sweet!!!
