well this saturday, i actually will be a VIP.

i have been handed the opportunity to take the new Pitch Level VIP Experiencefor a test run. this opportunity is officially rolling out for the chelsea match, but in an effort by the FO to get some feedback, and maybe iron out a couple of logistical kinks, a few of us very VERY VERY important people are going to give it a go.

i don’t know too much what to expect other than what is on the official site.

• Exclusive on field table for Four
• Inclusive food and beverage with wait staff
• Valet parking with private entrance
• Welcome with commemorative match scarf for each member of your group
• Behind the scenes tour of Qwest Field including the interview room, press box and TV/Radio booths
• Group photo taken on the pitch
• Personalized jersey autographed by a Sounders FC player
• Meet and greet with players and/or members of the coaching staff from each team

Personalized jersey autographed by a Sounders FC player – This could be Ljungberg or Alonso (my two personal preferences) or it could be Terry Bross or Fucito. with all due respect to them….. you know.

Meet and greet with players and/or members of the coaching staff from each team - This could be an amazing chance to rub elbows with the starting 11 and give me a chance to get in a fred sandwich group hug…. or, maybe i will be behind a 4 inch thick glass window saying “hey guys… look at me…. can i take a picture?” and then i forget the flash is still on and all i get is a picture of a few guys you sort of recognize but the huge flash glare makes it pretty much worthless.

so i don’t really know what to expect, and it will be interesting to watch the game pitch side vs 16 rows up which i currently do. but regardless it is going to be a unique experience and i will make that wait staff earn their keep that day. it just so happens to be my birthday so if i needed yet another reason for adult beverage consumption… well, keep the beer, shrimp poppers and extreme fajitas coming my way.
