DC to host final. seriously?

assuming DC gets through rochester in the semi final of the USOC Stephon Goff from the Washington post is reporting that they (DC) won the right to host the USOC final

we can almost guarantee 2o,000+ people to that game. how could we have bid so low to not win it.

even stephen goff  in the article himself can’t quite believe it.

I do not know the details of the bids or how much money the teams promised the USSF, but I am a bit surprised that, if both Seattle and DCU win, the game will be played at RFK. Last year’s final in Washington drew 8,212. Seattle’s first bid for a trophy would draw at least double that amount, right?
