Thundersticks are Back

t-sticksOh, to the sadness of many Sounders fans, 50,000 pairs of Thundersticks will be given away at Saturday’s match against Chelsea.

Samsung Mobile and at&t are proud to present the historical Sounders FC vs. Chelsea FC match on Saturday at the Xbox Pitch at Qwest Field. Fifty-thousand thundersticks will be distributed to fans courtesy of Samsung Mobile and at&t.

The Thundersticks were also given away to the Mother’s Day match against the LA Galaxy. Our resident Alliance Council member, yamsmos, was informed by the Front Office that the LA game would be the only time the man-made noisemakers would be given out; now he is being told that this is the second of two times that the Thundersticks will be distributed.

You’ve been warned.

    Samsung is the primary sponsor for Chelsea, right? I’m indifferent about this. If you don’t like them, don’t use them, those who like them will use them instead of clapping.

    Yamsmos and the Alliance council need to get the Thundersticks banned from Sounders games.  We are not sitting behind the free-throw at an NBA game!  Now Chelsea will go back to Europe telling stories of the Americans with their silly noise makers.  USE YOUR VOICE to make noise!

    It’s bad enough that we have a marching band…

    Also, when will people learn to keep a beat and not start clapping faster & faster?

    hate those.  They will be very annoying.  Ban them forever. 

    Can’t wait for the game.  Just had surgery this morning, but will still be there!  SOUNDERS TIL I DIE!

    Well, the hope is that they’re not there for the Barca match.  Remember, the Mother’s Day excuse was that they were planned so far in advance that it was impossible to cancel.  Chelsea has been on the sheet for a while, the only question is if they’re green or blue. 

    Given the choice would you ban horns or thundersticks???

    I walk on past most handouts, and this is one they’re not going to con me into taking EVER!

    The best idea is for those of us who don’t like them to grab them… right?  Keep them deflated in your pocket.   One less pair of sticks to be heard.  My kids, who are staying home this match, will love my gift from the game. =)

    Some times it’s more fun to be diplomatic…

    Hey how about we try the ol’ equipment manager mistake trick?!  I mean really how reliable are those people who hand out those gifts anyway?!
