eto’o will not be in seattle, zlatan will

there is no doubting zlatan ibrahimovic’s ability to score amazing goals, and now he will be doing it for barcelona. who knows if he will be playing in seattle on the 5th, but eto’o certainly will not be. zlatan was traded for eto’o, hleb  (on loan for a year with an option to buy) and a buttload of cash.

barca likes him so much, they put a €250m buy out clause in his contract. clearly that has to be just for show, b/c even if he scored 50 goals a year (which he won’t) nobody is worth that kind of money.

he was introduced at camp nou to 60,000 fans. crazy.

is that all i got? yup. slow news day and this 90 degree heat causes slow brain thought and no real insight. you could have read this same info on 430 other sites earlier today. but you didn’t, or if you did, you felt it worthy enough to reread here b/c your brain is slow today too.

uh, go sounders and stuff

Updated: Zlatan will be out for 3 weeks following a hand surgery. He will be in Seattle, but will not play.

I hear Zlatan and Llungberg aren’t the best of friends? any insight there?

interesting… i don’t know anything about that, but very possible. i know that ljungberg and fellow swede melberg can’t stand each other. i think there were 2+ scuffles between them in previous international training.

I read Zlatan had a fractured hand?

Zlatan will not play much at all this preseason if at all because of his hand injury but it’s been said that he will travel to the US with the team.

Zlatan and Ljungberg hung out in different groups when they played in the NT and they’ve had their discussions on the field sometimes when playing but it’s probably more due to the fact that they are both quite hot headed so not ‘enemies’ but not really friends either. Zlatan and Mellberg are friends though.

Wouldn’t say that Freddie and Mellberg can’t stand each other but they’re not friends either. Their scuffle got kind of blown up by the media. During training, Freddie got a harsh tackle from Mellberg and Freddie, being the hot headed guy he is, reacted strongly to it.

Will be interesting to see how Eto’o and Zlatan will fare with their new clubs. I kind of feel that they both fit in better where they were before the trade. Eto’o is a pure sniper who excels with great playmakers in the midfield while Zlatan loves having the ball and creates most of the chances by himself. In Inter, that was the perfect fit because the offence was Zlatan and nothing else pretty much.

Inter got some money in the deal to get that playmaking midfielder to go with Eto’o though and Zlatan has pretty much won the league every year in every team he’s played for so far so that should tell something about his adaptability.

El Classico will get interesting this year. Messi + Zlatan vs Kaká + Ronaldo. 4 players who can arguably all be named as top 5 in a meeting that holds so much prestige already.

yeah, maybe ‘can’t stand each other’ was a bit dramatic. but they did have more than one altercation with each other, one on the pitch as you said back on 2002 and then once in the locker room in ’06 after their T&T draw.

freddies take on their relationship “I socialise more with other players than I socialise with Mellberg,”

anyway, unless barca sign olaf in the next week, no matter
