Freddie’s Migraines are Back

Posted by Mike on July 30, 2009 · Under Freddie Ljungberg · View Comments

1st time All Star Freddie Ljungberg was taken to the hospital following the MLS All Star Game against Everton last night with the beginings of a migraine.

The former Arsenal star had a temporary loss of vision.

The MLS All Stars lost to the club from Liverpool in Penalty Kicks; US National Team goalkeeper Tim Howard saved Freddie’s penalty shot which gave the English team the win.

Ljungberg missed games against FC Dallas and the Colorado Rapids earlier this season because of this recurring problem.

loss of vision certainly is a good excuse for getting your PK saved ;-)

but seriously i hope he is ok, but  at the risk of sounding insensitive this couldn’t have come at a better time. he can’t play in sunday’s game either way, so take a week off and get rid of that migrain fred

Well this may make one of his suspensions a non issue if he would have had to miss a game anyways for a migraine.

On the All-Star game, F10 (F8 for the night), played very well.  You can see that he really plays a lot better when he is surrounded by better players.  The chance he created for Donovan was beautiful.  It was too bad the woodwork made the save.  He was also connecting very well with Conor Casey I thought as well.

I’ve known others that have migraines like this. It really is debilitating. I hope Freddie can get relief from this and that he’s ready after his suspension is over.

Freddie is expected to make a full recovery from the migraine and its not as bad as the one where he was out for 2 games.

I would think he would probably want to play against Barca so I could see him being back by then if he is fine.  No better time to have this I guess.  I feel bad for him, I don’t get them nearly that bad (I am usually out for a couple hours versus days) and no worse feeling.
