The Sounders have worn, what is becoming the staple, G-B-G combo 16 times in MLS and US Open Cup competition. They have a 11-1-4 record.

The G-G-B set was the de facto road kit, until two matches ago when they went to Salt Lake. Sounders FC have gone G-G-B 8 times, going 1-3-4.

Up until the first international friendly, those were the only two uniform combinations. Against Chelsea, Barcelona, and at Real Salt Lake, the Sounders came out sporting G-G-G and have promptly gone L-L-L.

And, of course, last week at the Home Depot Center, the Sounders wore B-B-G for the first time and won 2-0.

G-B-G has some contrast to it.

  • Dave

    I’d like to see B-B-B.

I’m all for BBB as well. BBG and GGB look odd. Two consecutive of the same and one different? No go.

  • Ryan

I agree with Dave. Blue looks a lot better. On another note, has anyone seen the SI.com report on the MLS putting in a bid for the USL? It’d be pretty sweet to have a promotion/relegation system set up here in america!

    Green for me.

Rave Green is our identity. Too many teams sport blue- KC, SJ, LA. Others include blue.
    No one else wears green.

Green is our identity but unfortunately lacks practicality in terms of player visibility. I Hope the team takes a lok at this for our ’10 kits

I want to see an All-White Kit with White SHorts with Green Trim and Green Socks. Those are 09-10 Kits. They should be the ceremonial kits

  • Caitlin Loraine

Loving the B-B-G. I’d like to see all blue for a match!

Did yamsmos buy off all of you Sounder BLUE fans??? :p

  • Derek R.

    I agree with Mike.

As much as I enjoyed the Blue, Green makes us stand out and since its the color I first saw our MLS team play in it will always be the color I associate with our team.

  • Ben R

I would like to see G-B-B.  Too much green kind of looks bland on a green pitch.  Blue adds a nice contrast.  The tops should stay rave green as much as possible though.  It is our color.  It is unique.

    g-b-g.

not that i think it looks goood or anything, but we’re 11-1-4 in them!!!!!!! i’m superstitious i guess. don’t fix what ain’t broke.

but for purely looks, either all blue or all green, preferablely all green since that’s our identity. mixing it looks bad. but we play so damn well when we mix them up. oh well. here’s to looking bad but playing great!

  • Joe

Our Blue shirt is the bomb! (yes, I still use words like ‘bomb’)

G-B-G should be our ‘traditional’ and provides the best contrast.

Can’t stand all Green and hope to hell we never see the Blue shirt with Green shorts. I would weep uncontrollably.

  • yamsmos

undefeated in blue. that is all i am saying.

  • Rich Smith

I like the G-B-G combo. As other have said, the rave green has become an important part of the Sounders identity. That said, those blue kits the the team wore in LA looked pretty damn starp.

if you haven’t seen the designs of Joel at emeralpitch.com you must check them out.

i would LOVE to see the sounders go with something like his proposed 2010 kit.  its a little reminiscent of MANU’s kit and although i’m not a fan of the team they have to be the best dressed team in the world year in, year out.
