‘Over 11,000 tickets sold for US Open Cup final’

Jose over at the Times is reporting as of 1pm PST today, DC has sold “over 11,000 tickets” for the final they ‘just had to have in DC’.  Anyone want to guess the average ticket price?

so basically, they’re going to have the exact same attendance they did last year. because you know they’re exaggerating on those numbers. they’re reporting season ticket holders who were given free tickets as well (a majority of whom won’t show up). not very impressive considering all the broo-haha they put up about hosting the event. we would have gotten twice as many, easy. and yet again, us soccer shoots itself in the foot.

I would say around the $12 price they have for their 1996 price.  They started out with $25 and gave away a ton in the 2 for 1 deals and then the half price tickets.

Your title should read 8,000 sold and 3,000 given away.  Then there’s the matter of whether 11,000 peeps actually show up for their weekday match since a lot of tickets were literally given away.

DC loses this match regardless of the score at the final whistle.

    What’s 11,000×0?

I just hope the Sounders can finally score a freaking goal. Hoping for a win is beyond my ability at this point.
