Sounders Claim US Open Cup Awards

US Open Cup Final SoccerAlong with Seattle’s 2-1 victory over DC United to become US Open Cup Champions, a pair of Sounders also garnered personal awards.

Fredy Montero was named Player of the US Open Cup Final. Montero scored the first goal in the 67th minute.

The honors for Player of the US Open Cup Tournament went to Kasey Keller. Including the Play-in match against Colorado, Keller surrendered only 3 goals and 5 wins in 480 minutes. Along the way, he recorded two clean sheets.

    What other awards are there for players?  Browsing the interwebs I couldn’t find much on individual player awards for the USOC.  Who won the Golden Boot?
