NewEnglandRevolution.pngSeattle travels to New England for the first time as they start a 3-Game “Road Trip”.

The Sounders (9-6-11, 38pts) are in the midst of a Playoff Race and find themselves in a tie with with the Rapids of Colorado for 3rd place in the West (5th Place overall) as they play at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.

New England, as well, find themselves with 2 games in hand and 34 points in the East- which would be the 8th, and final, Playoff spot.

This is the second time the Sounders and the Revs will meet this season. New England walked away from Qwest on August 20th with a 1-0 win over Seattle thanks to a 21st minute goal by Shalrie Joseph.

In a battle for a very important 3 Points, New England is 6-3-3 at home this season. Seattle is 3-4-5 on the road.

Head Coach Sigi Schmid will have his full compliment of players at his disposal for the match in Foxboro. The Revs are in the same position.

For some reason, I feel that the push to the playoffs starts with this match. Up to now we’ve been trying to stay in the race. But now, with three straight road matches, we need to state our intentions for all to see by earning three points.

We’re coming down the home stretch (temporarily re-named the away stretch). It’d be nice to have a spot secured by the time they return on the 24th.

No more USOC distractions. We need our best three matches of the season, starting tomorrow.

  • DaveS

I’d be happy if we draw the next 2 and win the final 2, but a win tomorrow would definitely improve the picture and make me a happy camper.

please, I want a win, 3 pts, solidify our place in the post season.

  • Joe

Just looked at that stat box again and noticed Jaqua…
Isn’t it usually defenders or d-mids that have the most fouls on a team?

    Unreal.

    laurie Reply:

It’s been Jaqua since the start of the season.  He is obviously not your standard forward.

Also, you guys are going to let me know which teams I’m rooting for this weekend, right?  I count on you for this information.

  • Derek R

lol anytime you read about another team or happy to see another game on tv, just chant/root for the sounders and I think you’ll get the point across who you want to win

  • Derek R

Does anyone know what the black bands on Hurtado and Montero are for?

  • Artesian

Derek, it’s early mourning for our playoff chances…

Actually a friend of theirs who plays in Colombia was killed last week.
