The Sounders will host their first MLS Playoff game sometime in the near future.

Full Season Ticket Holders needed to order their seats for the Playoffs before yesterday.

We’ve just been informed by two people that people who signed up for the Partial Season Ticket Package that they’ve been told that a special pre-sale opportunity will be available to them soon.

For the General Public, Tickets go on sale at 10a on Saturday the 24th.

Thanks Janette & Tom.

I wonder if they open up the upper decks if the stadium sells out  quick enough.

    Mike Reply:

Nope. Adrian Hanauer said they will keep the current configuration throughout the playoffs.

  • Jon

Just got the email and purchased my tickets. Got four in the end zone. Seems to be plenty of club level seats, but sideline not so much…

  • Jeff

Just got 2 sideline tickets in Row D! Woohoo. Can’t wait!

  • Steve

Crap, I will have to be there at 10 that morning, oh well can go on a beverage run to Georgetown then too.  Good ol Tailgate before the evening game.

I just talked to my ticket rep to verify that I actually ordered my tickets.  (Because even though it’s showing up as a charge in “My Account Manager” I still get paranoid and have nightmares that it’s playoff day and I forgot to order tickets.)  Apparently they’re emailing STH purchasers’ tickets out today.

    Must go check my email!

  • Mark

The email went out to Partial Season Tickets Holders this morning.  You can buy up to 8 tickets through your account manager.

Now I just need to convince my wife that we need to go…

  • janette

Hey anyone else having this problem?  Purchased my seats and got the email confirming and stating I could go to my ticket management page of my account to print.  When I go there I see what I’ve purchased, but there’s no option for me to print out the tickets.  Don’t want to bug my rep if there’s a simple answer.  Thanks!!

    laurie Reply:

Janette, they’re going to email the tickets to be printed out.  Or at least the link to the tickets.  Talked to my rep this morning and he thought it would be sometime today.

    Danger Nut Reply:

I had the same issue as you but luckily I still had my original confirmation page open that has a print tickets button, this opens up a .pdf file.

  • janette

    Thanks Laurie!

  • Danger Nut

Those on the waiting list for next year also can purchase great seats right now.  I got 137 row 10.  I’m stoked!

  • http://gosounders.com Mike

Wait a minute- you were offered to buy seats that you didn’t have?

  • Janette

Has to be wrong . . . . . could you explain your statement Danger Nut?

  • Mark

He probably means that those who put down a deposit on Season Tickets next year (those on the waiting list), have been given an opportunity to buy Playoff tickets before the sale to the general public.

  • http://gosounders.com Mike

But Danger Nut isn’t the only one. Jeff got two in Row D.

And Mark said he could buy up to 8 more. I’m guessing he didn’t have 8 season tickets.
Did I miss something? Did STH’s get the opportunity to buy additional seats? Am I on to something here? because that wouldn’t be fair if the original STH’s didn’t get the chance, but everyone else has.

    Mark Reply:

As far as I know, anyone with a SSFC acount (STH, PSTH, and waitlisters) now have the opportunity to buy up to 8 play-off tickets in any available section.  As a Partial Season Ticket Holder,  I was sent a link to buy tickets the other day.

  • Danger Nut

I am not a season ticket holder but I am on the list for next year, as such, I received an email yesterday saying I had the opportunity to buy up to 8 playoff tickets before the general public.  I immediately logged on and found and purchased 2 tickets in section 137, row 10, dang good seats.  I presume there are seats that a season ticket holder failed to purchased playoff tickets before the Monday deadline.

    Danger Nut Reply:

And by “on the list” I mean I put a deposit down to purchase 2 season tickets for next year

  • Joe

I have one season ticket. I paid for the one playoff ticket available to me at the time and was told that STH’s would have a pre-sale option b/f tix went on sale to general public — our opportunity to purchase additional tickets. I never rec’d an email and it appears tix are now on sale through other means. I’ve emailed my rep to ask what’s up….

    Joe Reply:

Update: Ticket Rep just said there will be additional ticket pre-order email sent out to STH’s in the next day or two.

  • Craig

I’m sorry and not to be rude, but if non STH didn’t get the first crack at extra tickets I WILL BE PISSED.

Seems to me the best thing would have been:

    1. Season ticket holders get to purchase playoff tickets for their seats.
    2. Partial season ticket holders get to purchase playoff tickets for their seats.
    3. Waitlisters get to to buy the number of playoff ticket for which they have deposits.
    4.  All of the above get a shot at what’s left.
    5. General public

Even that way is weighted a bit heavy toward the waitlisters but you have to remember the Sounders have to get this all done in a week.

  • Joe

Ultimately, it’s up to the FO to decide how to dole these tix out, but proper communication would’ve been nice. They set a precedent with the Chelski and Barca friendlies by allowing STH’s first option for addt’l tix (right? I think so). So, STH’s are likely expecting the same treatment w/ playoff tix, which doesn’t appear to be happening. Naturally, STH’s will feel that they have bought in to this club from the beginning and have earned this right. Hmm.

  • LJ

Yeah, I thought something was screwy since I’ve been waiting for our STH extra ticket invitation email and my friend who is a partial ticket holder (2 seats) bought 8 tickets in my section 10 rows in front of me yesterday… and I still can’t pick extras up yet.   Doesn’t seem fair to us season ticket holders.  Ugh.

  • Steve

Non STH are going go get screwed.  This really isn’t cool that everyone can buy up to 8.

    LJ Reply:

Not everyone yet… just partial season ticket holders and folks with new deposits for next year.  Us existing Season ticketholders only purchased our season’s seats.   At least my account wouldn’t let me yet, with no email invitation so far.

    Craig Reply:

actually in this scenario the STH are getting screwed.

    I’m with LJ.

I just got a “Print your playoff tickets” email, but nothing about buying more tickets.  This is the first time I think the ticket office has really screwed up.

  • janette

Honestly I think you guys are right, the full season guys should have been able to buy up to 8 tickets (which is what I thought had happened).  They did get to keep their same seats . . . . partial guys like myself weren’t able to choose our same seats, but we were able to purchase up to 8.

  • yamsmos

so i have been talking to lots of peeps on this, and i think i may (i hope) have some reasoning to this… although i am purely speculating.

it sounds like the tickets the PSTH’s are getting offered are any of the non STH’s (possibly the hawks nest) etc. But any STH’s seat is still “on hold” for a STH to purchase.

SO, having said that, when they open it up to the STH’s they will be able to purchase all of the seats of those STH’s that did not buy (and i hear there are a lot of them). so in actuality, we will get a selection to a crop of better seats.

so while i agree it feels a bass ackwards way of doing it, i think, for now, they deserve the benifit of the doubt b/c this could clearly benifit STH’s in the long run.

again. pure speculation, deduction… and deep internal feelings that i have buried deep down for a long time is driving me to this conclusion………. we will see

I hate to point out that I’m adding seats, but as such, my $100 deposit should allow me into this “earlier” purchase since I’d be adding seats for next season.  Why do I feel the best way to deal with these things is to have 1 seat per account, thus giving you seats=votes for council and other things.

This is a great issue to have but still…

  • LJ

It appears that it was only offered to ‘new’ account deposits… not existing accounts who are adding.  Another friend wondered the same thing ;)

  • Ben R

It is an interesting issue with the way they handled playoff tickets, but it makes sense that partial season ticket holders get first choice on buying tickets and getting seat selection because they either don’t have the same seats every game (like me who got the weird 7 game pack after green and blue sold our) or the green and blue people are sharing the same seats.  I just don’t know why they let us buy up to 8, I don’t think anyone should be able to.  I purchased 3 tickets, but I only have 2 partial season tickets.

  • LJ

Just tried our (STH)  pre-sale invite for 4 additional seats and the only sideline seats available are the more expensive club seats.  Seems to be some behind the goals.
