Sounders to Appear in Charity Match with Rapids
The Colorado Rapids announced today that they will be participating in a Charity Match with Sounders FC the week before First Kick.
The “Charity Shield” will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Friday, March 19th. Proceeds from the match will be forwarded to UNICEF earmarked for relief in Haiti.

i am late to the game… while everyone else has had their chance to weigh in on absent freddie, i have been doing this thing that is called “work”. my boss thinks that asking for 12 things every 14 minutes, while changing 5 of the things just asked for 14 minutes ago each time, is an acceptable way to work. well it isn’t and i am going to do something about it damnit… i am going to do nothing for right now, and then maybe something different later… but whatever i do is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!! that will show him. Ljungberg in town on 2/1. Hints on CBA Deal.

In an open letter on his blog, Sounders FC designated player Freddie Ljungberg has noted that there was a “communication error” between the Swede and the Sounders Front Office and that he will be in Seattle to train with the team starting on February 1st.
This is interesting because it seems that Fred10 has given us some insight on the CBA process, where he notes, “Based on the latest news I’ve heard from both sides, there wont be a lock out or strike on Feb 1.” Read more

Freddie Ljungberg noted that he is “surprised” that the Sounders Coaching Staff didn’t know about his absence from the first day of Training Camp.
