Sounders Select David Estrada in 1st Round

Estrada with the UCLA Bruins
Seattle Sounders FC selected David Estrada with their first pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. The #11 overall pick is a 5’8″ midfielder from UCLA.
The Senior Bruin did not expect to be selected in the first round by many analysts and Estrada himself, he noted “I won’t be watching the first round, because I am sure I won’t be selected, but I will be watching online the second, third and fourth rounds.”
Estrada tallied 22 goals and 14 assists as a forward and midfielder for the Pac-10 squad including 3 & 7 in his senior campaign.
He was a 3-time all-conference selection and was invited to the u-18 National Team Camp in 2008.
Estrada is a talented player who I think Sigi Schmid believes can flourish in the Sounders FC system. Estrada was a superstar as a freshman and at the Combine he showed flashes of that ability.
