Israeli Player Set for Trial with Sounders FC

yakir luskiDavid woke up early and beat me to it, but IMS Scouting is reporting that the Sounders will be taking a look at Israeli midfielder Yakir Luski.

He played on the U-17 National Team in 2003 and worked his way up to game time in the Israeli Premier League for Hapoel Tel Aviv and then for a third-division side last season.

The 23-year old attacking midfielder has been out of soccer for 4 months and had reports of retiring. He is evidently trying to make a comeback in the USA.

The only pic of this guy we can find is of him getting crunked off his a? He’ll be an instant fan favorite.

    Who retires at 23?

  • Mark

Do we want a playboy who thinks he is good enough at 23 to retire?

  • Steve

Gotta love the shot in hand.  They should make it his team photo if we pick him up.  lol.

    Sadly, yes.

Information on this guy is pretty thin. =-X

He went AWOL and didn’t show up for games?  Let’s pass one this one…

unfortunately the just speaks to the gulf in class between the MLS and other Soccer leagues around the world. Let’s hope the boys have done their homework on this guy. i have faith, if he’s half the player his countrymen Yossi Benayoun is, i’ll be happy.

at least they’re looking for a creative central mid, which points to the 2 freddies playing up top again.

Trial isn’t signing.  I’m happy with just about anyone coming in for a shot.  :-D

Seriously, if this is our only attempt at a foreign pickup I’d be diappointed, but I’m expecting at least 2-3 newbies into camp to fight for a roster spot.
