In an open letter on his blog, Sounders FC designated player Freddie Ljungberg has noted that there was a “communication error” between the Swede and the Sounders Front Office and that he will be in Seattle to train with the team starting on February 1st.

This is interesting because it seems that Fred10 has given us some insight on the CBA process, where he notes, “Based on the latest news I’ve heard from both sides,  there wont be a lock out or strike on Feb 1.”

Regarding the possible moves to play in Europe, Ljungberg ended the rumours with some clarity- “that this situation was out of my control but I can say that I am truly happy that it has been resolved and I will be returning to Seattle.”

YAY!!!  Freddie is back, no lockout/strike/break in training!

  • Steve

SWEET!!  No strike!!  The MLS will live!

I think one or more of the bloggers or supporters websites needs to setup a petition page that calls on MLS to promise there will be no strike this year and that we want them to end there ridiculous control of players when they are no longer on contract with a team, guarantee contracts at least to the point of your paid for the years signed for unless you sign with another team, and increase the league minimum to $50,000 at least.  I find it insulting seeing what some of these players are getting paid.  Join the rest of the world.  If they want the league to have more monetary control set up rules regarding that teams can’t go into the red.

Well … no strike on Feb 1, anyway. Fred10′s syntax is sometimes sketchy, so hard to know how to interpret that.
