Enhance Your GoSounders Experience
A few weeks ago, we quietly enhanced our commenting system. It is now much easier to reply to previous readers’ notes and note which comments you like.
BUT, there are some other features of the commenting system that are now available to enhance and strengthen the GoSounders Community.
First, you can set an avatar… all you need to do is click in the grey’d out profile pic (look at the right) and select an avatar from your computer or Facebook, or Twitter, or Yahoo! You can also bind multiple social media accounts together.
You can go one step further. You can have your GoSounders profile be linked to your Social Media profile logging in to the world’s most popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo!, or Blogger.
Doing this allows for a great profile for the site and creates a richer environment for the visitors.
If you’re worried about safety or authentication, the login software uses approved open APIs from Facebook, Twitter, etc. to communicate. The GoSounders connection complies with those sites’ authentication and connection rules, so if you trust them, this login is just an extension.
Now it’s easier to markup your comment using bold, underline, italics, and HTML. Throw in the ability to add images and YouTube and the user experience as a whole is increased.
The list of smilies is also enhanced and expanded. Just click the smilies and a box of 16 smilies will pop up!
And if you want to “Like” someone else’s post- have it. It let’s people know that you like what they’re saying without needing to actually post a full comment.
Hovering over a person’s name will also show you their posting history on GoSounders.com- a feature to help you build a community with other posters.
The final added functionality in our comments allows you to post your comment to multiple social media sites. That’s right, not only to GoSounders.com, but to Twitter, Facebook, and/or Google.
That’s pretty cool & very slick. You do that by clicking the TO dropdown (to the right). Think of it as sending the comment TO “this site”, to “Facebook”, to Twitter, or any combination.
When it’s all said and done, it’ll look like this (I’m logged in via Twitter).

Finally, you can follow the comments via an RSS feed, by clicking on Follow!
If you have any questions or concerns, let us know. If you like it, let us know.
So go ahead and comment. Unlike other “Fan” sites, we don’t censor comments. Say something racist, demeaning or an attack on someone else it’ll be deleted- but your opinion will be heard, and if you make fun of us or correct us, we’re OK with that.
Now go ahead, have fun in the comments.
