Swiss International Striker Blaise Nkufo will be able to join Sounders FC during the summer transfer window.

  • The Sounders play at DC United on July 15th, according to Adrian, “There is a chance that Blaise could play in that game.”

  • Nkufo is on an 18-month contract, with a 1-year option. Contract details were not disclosed.
  • The Front Office has been working on bringing Nkufo to Seattle since the 4th quarter of 2009.
  • Blaise noted, “I want to settle and also live in Seattle. That’s my wish.”
  • Nkufo also was very aware of the Sounders Fans, “What I saw is that they’re great fans. They almost have 30,000 fans average. The expectations are very high and they really support the team. For me, also, it was a key.”

We just need the jersey to go on sale.  I was looking to replace my Le Toux and this may be perfect.

Just need a number and you can have it today :D

  • FO’d

Here’s to Nkufo scoring 8 World Cup goals as Switzerland is unfortunately knocked out on June 25th, unable to advance beyond the group stages.

Sorry guys. Great cheese, hot chicks, horrible WC2010!

If only i knew the number. 9 isnt taken anymore, 10 obviously is taken, and i dont remember if we have an 11 (could be the wine and double bastard). i think i will wait til it hits stores, but cant wait for july when he plays in the green!

  • stevee

I would love the 8 goals and not advancing. the best would be great play and getting to us as soon as possbile. a leader like this to help fl10 is better the quicker we get him

  • Mike

Maybe we finally have a player who can take a PK and hit the back of the net… thank the lord.  I was ready to tear my hair out with our PK’s last year – also his size is going to be a major help on set plays, it looks like he knows how use his head.   With freddie serving and him finishing it could be a very lethal combination.
