The 2010 Friendlies

Posted by Mike on March 31, 2010 · Under Poll · View Comments

A few of the top European clubs (like Manchester United, City, and AC Milan) have noted their interest or intent to make a summer tour through the US like Chelsea and Barcelona did in 2009.

A year ago at this time, Sounders Fans already knew that The Blues were headed to the Emerald City, and the announcement of the second friendly against the Catalan Giants was announced in late April.

Yet, nothing has been announced for 2010. Yet.

That July 17th date or the 14 day gap in August look extremely attractive. Who would you love to see the Sounders play this summer?

I second Galatasaray SK.  Does anyone have an inkling about why the season tickets for the three friendlies are priced differently?  Two are at the regular season price and one (the last) is more expensive.

Screw ManU. I want to see Arsenal or Liverpool!

  • FO’d

No clue what you mean by “Top South American Club”

Cruzeiro have announced matches in North America and Santos came up for the Red Bull Arena opener. Other acceptable clubs might include Flamengo, Sao Paulo and Corinthians.

All of the Euro clubs will be missing key players. I can’t possibly imagine the FO wanting to promote these matches knowing the key names will be in South Africa (or recovering) and not Seattle.

    Kitsap Pumas!!!

    Indios de Cd. Juarez!

I have to agree, Bayern are a longshot to take the CL title.  That said I’d dearly love to see them win it and it would be even better to see them play a game in Seattle.
