nyheader
The Sounders head to the road to play at the new Red Bull Arena in an effort to erase memories of last Saturday’s 0-4 loss to the LA Galaxy.

Seattle (2-3-3, 9pts) looks to erase a 4-game winless streak, as the Red Bulls (5-2-0) look to recover from their 0-4 loss at San Jose. Over the past three matches, the Sounders have been out-scored 7-1.

This will be the fourth matchup in the history of these two clubs. Colombian Fredy Montero has scored three goals in those 3 games and Seattle fans look hopefully that the skillful forward will find the back of the net; something he hasn’t done in the past 3 matches.

In 2010, fellow Colombian Juan Pablo Angel has 4 goals on the season fro New York.

The two clubs met at Qwest Field a month and a half ago when the leaders of the Eastern Conference walked away from the Emerald City with a 1-0 win thanks to a Mac Kandji goal in the 21st minute.

Nate Jaqua, Mike Fucito, and Osvaldo Alonso are out for the game due to injury.

Kickoff is slated for 430p PT. The game will be on local TV KONG 6/16 and on KIRO97.3 FM. Arlo White will be calling the match.

We need a change of luck for sure… any chance we’ll see them pull out the blue or the new electricity kit?

I was thinking they weren’t going to start Montero today after Sigi pulled him so early in last weeks game.  I know he’s got a good record against New York last year, but this isn’t the same team we’re playing.  I’m hoping for Montano, Noonan, and Zakuani as our starting forwards.

I think you guys are over estimating montano. I agree he looks pretty good with the ball and has alot of fire, but he’s so green he’s likely to make alot of mistakes – including some costly ones. I believe it was him who missed heading donovans free kick out which blocked rileys view and lead to the third goal last week.

I’m not over estimating Montano, I just think Montero needs to take a seat for a game.  He might make mistakes sure, but what do we have to lose?
