Sounders to Appear in Charity Match with Rapids
The Colorado Rapids announced today that they will be participating in a Charity Match with Sounders FC the week before First Kick.
The “Charity Shield” will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Friday, March 19th. Proceeds from the match will be forwarded to UNICEF earmarked for relief in Haiti.
thanks LAG
after the explosive sounders FC start, and the poor start of many other teams, it seemed like, while it would be premature to think we were going to win the league, well, we could count on the playoffs…. but then over the last 4–6 weeks that feeling started to slip away from a ‘we will make the playoffs’ to a ‘boy, we could throw this away.’
yesterday hopefully put a stop to that…. we put 4 points between colorado and us but in more of a surprise, the galaxy held houston.
houston is still 3 points ahead with a game in hand, but there was a point there where they didn’t look like they were going to drop another point. they play that game in hand on july 4th away to KC. should they fail to get a point there, we will be playing them on the 11th where a win would see us leapfrog them in the standings based upon goal differential.
funny how quick these things change

much needed win against a close division rival
I wasn’t able to make this game. It was the anniversary for the wifey and I, and I just got back from picking up the kids from the grandparents and now I am sitting down to a DVR’d Sounders match.
I am going to try something new and blog while I watch (with a few paused moments to be able to catch up). Not trying to do a play by play, but merely write on the important moments of the match. And as I start off here, I am on about a 45 minute delay from the live match. Already, my phone has been getting many texts, so I am translate that into goals, I just don’t know who for yet.

Playing Colorado for the second time in four days, some new faces (and some familiar) saw playing time. Kasey Keller, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Nate Sturgis, and Sebastien LeToux all found themselves starting in the Play-in Match.
The game’s lone score came in the 61st minute and started on a long Sanna Nyassi throw-in to Roger Levesque who passed the ball on to Kevin Forrest’s head for the goal.

4th draw in a row… but this is ok

Nate Jaqua (AP)
let me paint the picture.
i am at my parents. no dvr. dinner being served at 6:30pm, game time. a pain in the B 3 year old to my right, hungry crying 9 week old to the left (both of those kids mine)… no tv in sight while the game is going on. totally miss the first half…i am just dying.
between diaper changes, naughty chairs (not what you are thinking for those that don’t have kids), helping my mom with her computer problems etc, (mom, i don’t know what you mean when you say “the thingy just goes away when i click the doo dah!!!”) i didn’t get to concentrate on much of the second half either.
so my review is totally half baked, half assed and you should not give it any validity. but what i did see from the game…………….. let me say this. Read more
