The Sounders’ 2009 First Round Draft Pick, David Estrada, has been placed on the Injured Reserved “due to a right hamstring strain and right first toe sprain.”

He can return to MLS action against the Revolution on September 4th when Seattle plays at New England.

Freddie Ljungberg Out for FC Dallas

Matt Gaschk noted that Sounders FC designated player Freddie Ljungberg has suffered an ankle injury.

The injury will not require surgery and Ljungberg has not been added to the Injured Reserve, but he will not be available for Sunday’s match against FC Dallas.

Kasey Keller underwent an evaluation for his head injury Friday in Dallas before travelling to Toronto.  He will be further evaluated on Saturday, when his availability will be determined for the Sounders FC match against Toronto FC on Sunday.

Steve Zakuani

Defender Zach Scott and midfielder Steve Zakuani are both scheduled to undergo surgery this week.

Scott will have a sports hernia procedure in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Zakuani will have reconstructive surgery on his right shoulder in Seattle on Thursday.

Both are expected to recover in time to join preseason training in January.

Keller & Montero Cut Practice Short

Hypoglycemia… Hyperclycemia… who the hell knows what Freddie Ljungberg has? The fact is that Fred10’s issues with memory loss and disorientation have been diagnosed as a blood sugar issue and he is good to go for 45-60 minutes at Houston tomorrow.

Sounders FC: “The mystery of Freddie Ljungberg’s headaches and recent bout of disorientation and memory loss that kept him out of the Sounders last two games has been solved. The diagnosis – hypoglycemia or low blood-sugar.”

Freddie Ljungberg’s recent migraines, loss of memory, and disorientation is a result of being hyperglycemic; a case of having excessive levels of blood sugar.

Ljungberg can remain healthy by monitoring and maintaining. Freddie is hoping to play 45-60 minutes in Sunday’s match at Houston according to Don Ruiz.
