we sucked today, but not as much as fifa refs. well, ok. maybe.

so, maybe i am a little pissy b/c the US got knocked out, or maybe i am pissy b/c my other half, england, got hosed on a call that could have very much changed the game, or maybe i am pissy b/c it has been a very very frustrating 27 hours of footy all round. pretty much all of the above.

but the sounders sucked today. ljungberg hardly had a touch. vagenas was absent. marshall did his best to give away the ball, when he wasn’t giving away penalties (even though that was rather soft).  but i am proud to say that we kept up our perfect record in MLS play with how we finish penalty kicks. so we got that going for us.

i actually don’t want to talk any more sounders. i don’t think i was ready for the game… and i am pretty sure our team wasn’t either. we were flat, boring, out of ideas, and defensively frail.

onto a quick recap of the world cup games today.
