Sebastien LeToux Taken by Philly
Sounders FC’s first player, Sebastien LeToux, has been selected by the Philadelphia Union from Sounders FC as a part of Philly’s Expansion Draft.
In the conference call, Head Coach Peter Nowack noted, that he “he was on the USL Sounder. I watched Le Toux, and was very, very impressed”. Nowack added that “He can play multiple positions. And he can score some goals.”
“With expansion comes the unfortunate consequence that you’re likely going to lose someone,” said Sigi Schmid, Sounders FC head coach. “Seba is a quality player, and it’s understandable that Philadelphia valued his abilities and brought him aboard. Read more
What are you doing to watch the US Open Cup Final?
Wow, one week from the first final match for Sounders FC. Are you headed to DC to chear on our boys, or will you find a pub locally and watch the 10,000 fans that DC can’t seem to come up with? Or will you be sitting at work catching the game online or via the radio?
I’m still waiting to hear how ticket sales are going for them – with tickets starting at $12! With this string of 10 games in 31 days, they’re running 0-2-1, pulling a draw with the Galaxy at home. Tonight they’re playing Toluca in the CCL, and with the Fire in on Saturday, they should be nice and exhausted for the Final.
In case you missed it, Le Toux won the Player of the Round for the semi-finals when we played Houston! Need I point out that Le Toux has been the leading goalscorer the last two years, with 5 goals in ’07 and ’08. Le Toux has 3 goals so far, 2 against Salt Lake for the play in (do these count?) and the PK that won the game against Kansas City.
what to do with letoux
sebasiten le toux is making a nuisance of himself isn’t he? he get’s the first assist of the season last month, but then has a few challenging games where he fails to impress. he sits last week for zakuani/evans to take up the wing, but then follows that up with a 2 goal and 2 assist match last night.
so where does le toux fit in?
is he good enough to follow up that performance? or did he only shine b/c it was a little bit of a weakened RSL team?
did he show that his true position is striker? or will he only ever be an average player at the top flight, but a great player at the lower divisions? Read more

ok, i am back. sorry for the lack of blogging. if you want to know (and i know you don’t) i have been dealing with holes in my roof over the last 2 weeks due to a new roof being put on. As you also know, some dude named noah must be building something somewhere b/c it has be raining like a mother-father. to say i haven’t been sleeping would be an understatement. have you ever dealt with sleep deprivation. it is trippy stuff man. if you could can it up and sell on the street you would be rich.
SOOOOOOO. my desire to blog was curbed quite a bit. but with that, the roof is going to be completed today, i have been catching up on my sleep, and i was able to get 15 minutes 1×1 time with drew last night before the members meeting. so there is a lot to talk about. i mean a lot. Read more

Sounders Headed to Argentina
In Matt Gaschk’s article in the PI, he notes that Chris Eylander, Josh Gardner, Kevin Sakuda, and Kenji Treschuk all are “most likely to join Le Toux, midfielder Sanna Nyassi and goalkeeper Kasey Keller with the MLS club…”
Then followed up with, “Hanauer indicated the club isn’t likely to sign more players until after the USL Sounders return from an October trip to Argentina.”
Hat tip to GOALSeattle.com who was up before the break of dawn to post this too.

In all of the hoopla surrounding Kasey Keller’s signing yesterday, we came across a snippet about Sebastien Le Toux‘s contract that we never saw when Le Toux became the first players for Sounders FC back in May.
