ECS FC vs. FC Portlandia
Just when you thought the Portland rivalry was going into slumber mode, here’s the supporters from both teams taking to the pitch. Game is Sunday March 28th at 3pm down at Starfire. Free parking and admittance but keep in mind these are supporters, and not professionals. Expect a few foul mouths, and there should be some Timbers Army guys hanging around after the Timbers beat the White Caps last night 2-0. The graphic to our left is a little off, due to the change of kick time.

Supporter Summit Details
In case you didn’t hear, the MLS Cup is coming to Seattle on November 22nd. With MLS, the tradition stands that the hosting club’s supporters host meetings as a central workshop for the league’s fans- It’s an MLS Supporters Conference.
This year is no different. The Sounders Alliance in cooperation with the Emerald City Supporters, Gorilla FC, North End Supporters, and Immortal Fury will be hosting a series of events from the 20th through the 22nd, with the MLS Cup being the main event, of course. [Buy Tickets]

A Look at the Supporter Groups
Seven games into the Inaugural Season and some new Supporter Groups catering to different needs and backgrounds are kicking up. Here’s a quick look at the ones we’re aware of.
Emerald City Supporters- ECS is the first and preeminent group. They were formed in 2005 to support the USL Sounders. The ECS primarily sits in sections 121-123 on the South End of Qwest Field.
A number of Sub-Groups have been formed under the ECS.
- Bellingham Border Boys
- Brougham Boys ‘74
- City of Rain- a group of students from Seattle U.
- Emerald City Massive
Supporting the Rave Green in Southern California
If you were watching last Saturday’s game down in Carson, CA against Chivas USA you probably noticed a large contingent dressed in Rave Green in the stands of the Home Depot Center supporting Sounders FC.
We’re sure that some fans from the Puget Sound area made the trip south, but the majority of the group are the result of organization from Emerald City Supporters who are living in Southern California.
The idea came about on the ECS Message Boards if there were others in Southern California. From there, the SoCalSound was formed as an extension of the ECS. Read more
ECS’s Pre Match Plan for Saturday
Here’s a quick recap for the Emerald City Supporters’ plans for the Pre-Match Festivities on Saturday.
- 4p-550p: Membership drive at both Fuel and McCoy’s Firehouse
- 5:25 @ Fuel: Auctioning off two tickets to the match
- 5:35 @ McCoy’s: Auction off one ticket for the match
- 6:00: Leave Fuel and McCoy’s and head over to Occidental Park. Meet up with Sound Wave for the second march to Qwest Field.

Seattle Soccer Supporter Membership Drive
The Emerald City Supporters are having a membership drive to help enhance and increase their presence at Qwest Field for Sounders FC during the inaugural season and beyond.

game day atmosphere
as most of you have probably seen, there as an article in yesterdays times that talks about the seattle sounders FC atmosphere by looking at the colorado rapids and what they have done. there are countless opinions on most of the message boards that this would be a pretty bad idea (copying everything that the rapids have done). as most people point out, the rapids don’t really have a great atmosphere. it is better than it used to be, but not great.
thankfully, this article doesn’t really have any substance that truly says the sounders are actually using the rapids ’style’ for our own personal atmosphere. and i say thankfully, b/c here, according to Jose Romero, is what you could expect if that weren’t the case. Read more
ticket referal scheme working
just came across this on the ECS website and as i posted on their site, i am a little bit surprised, albeit very pleasantly surprised.
just an update, currently 20 season tickets have been referred to as ‘ECS’
as the comment goes on to say, per the scheme payback math, (0.03*288*20) gives the ECS group $172.80 towards the “purchase materials for use on match day”
