The Xbox 360 Deal- Part II
Some more details on the Seattle Sounders FC partnership with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 have been glossed over.
As we mentioned earlier there are 4 parts to the sponsorship:
- Logo appearing front and center on the Seattle Sounders FC kit
- Sponsorship of an international tour for the Sounders FC
- Naming of the “Xbox360 Pitch at Qwest Field”
- Naming Xbox 360 “the official and exclusive video game console of Major League Soccer”
Now to go into deeper research on the final point there…
- The sponsorship gives Xbox 360 the right to use MLS league and team marks along with logos and marketing assets at league and select team events such as the Pepsi MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup.
- The agreement includes player appearances, intellectual property, title nights, website presence, in-stadium exposure – including Xbox 360 fieldboards to be displayed at every MLS game.
- Xbox 360 also will be a sponsor of MLS grassroots and community initiatives including MLS Futbolito, the League’s official 4-v-4 soccer tournament.

The big news of course is the “Xbox 360 Live” logo on the front of the kit. Microsoft will be paying $4m a year for 5 years.
Xbox 360 will also…
- Sponsor an annual Sounders FC international tour
- The playing surface at Qwest Field will be dubbed, “The Xbox Pitch at Qwest Field”
- Be recognized as the “official and exclusive video game console of Major League Soccer.”

Sounders FC Jersey Sponsor Announced in WSJ
The Wall Street Journal has announced the new Kit Sponsor for the Seattle Sounders FC. The new uniform and the sponsor has been planned to be announced today at 11:30 at Qwest Field, but the WSJ jumped the gun.
The local company will pay $4m a year for 5 years.
